Fire! But the band played on....

Sadly we must confirm that a fire which was deliberately started caused major damage to our band room in Hurst Green on Wednesday 5th October.  We are currently going through the process of sorting things out, and our premises will likely take a while before we can use them normally, but meanwhile the band will continue rehearsing (somewhere!) for our upcoming events, as usual.  We'd like to thank all of our friends in the local and wider area who have offered support of many kinds during this difficult time for the band.

Meanwhile.... we are pleased to announce that this year’s Oxted Band Autumn Concert will be held on Saturday 29th October at St John’s Church,Church Way, Hurst Green, Surrey, RH8 9EA at 7.30pm.

The theme of this year’s concert is CLASSIC BRASS. We shall not only be showcasing music from the great composers such as Dvorak and Borodin, but will also feature classics from the brass band repertoire, including one
of the all-time favourite marches “The Contestor” by TJ Powell, and modern classics from the likes of Lennon & McCartney.

We are sure that there will be music to suit all tastes, and that there will be something for everyone to enjoy.

Refreshments will be served at the interval, and tickets at £10 for adults (£5 for children under 12) will be available on the door, from Whites Estate Agents in Oxted or you can call Peter on 07584 246501
